Relay for Life 2112

Well, it started out warm(almost too warm) J, H (j's sister) and I set everything up and got things where they needed to be... that didn't last long. Dinner needed to be eaten, kids needed entertained and Mother Nature wanted to see us all run around like chickens with our heads cut off trying to get everything that couldn't get wet into a dry spot. (harder than it sounds when the wind is blowing 13 million miles per hour)oh phew... we made it. Most of our team went to sleep between 3am and 4am. J's dad, cousin and I stayed up all night!! by the time it ended I was exhausted beyond belief. I was showering and I was resting my elbow on the wall while I was scrubbing in the shampoo. All in all we made it happen and it was a great experience for us. But there was one thing that happened that I just can't stop thinking about... as people walk around the track and you go the opposite direction because you are doing committee errands. While I was walking against the crowd, I noticed this man walking alone, wearing a pink shirt...(didn't think much of it because a lot of husbands support their wives and all their silly ideas...trust me I know)I did what I needed to do and decide to finish my lap back to my camp still going against the crow, I saw that same man. There wasn't 1 lap that Vince missed... he walked the ENTIRE 24 hours. What a inspiration to me and everyone that was there. Every time he walked by our camp we offered him water, otter pops, pretty much anything he wanted he could have had. He had no one effected by cancer, he did it for everyone else. His selfless love was for everyone that has or has been affected by cancer. He showed everyone there the true reason of why we do what we do... WE LOVE YOU VINCE!!! THANKS FOR ALL YOU'VE GIVEN US!! I want to encourage each of you to get involved with your communities Relay for Life... you will never be the same and neither will be people we are helping!!! Love Always, Danielle

As the Relay for Life draws closer

Today, (Sunday) officially starts the week of Relay... I (and some of my team members) have worked so hard on this. We really want it to be a successful and enjoyable event. We have a lot of little things we are raffling of such as... a queen size quilt made by my mom and quilted by my aunt, we have 2 Little Girl baskets. ( Our nieces wanted to be a part of it so that is what they did. The money they make goes towards their goal of $100.00) We have a company out of Ogden that makes water back packs, that has so graciously donated the prototype Breast Cancer awareness pack for us to raffle off. The company is Geigerrig. Amazing people!! We are going to have a FISH POND for the kids, we are also selling Air Heads, Fun Dips, Suckers, Coke products, water, and COTTON CANDY!! We are so excited!! Part of the whole relay thing is WHY? Why do you relay? I have been asked this numerous times and I always go back to my childhood... my mom was a single mom trying to go to school and raise 2 daughters less than a year apart. I think of the the things we got,(we never went without)and the places we got to go, and the friendships that my sister and I will cherish forever, and the memories (way too many to blog about) that we are able to share with our own families... so I guess the answer to the question... WHY DO YOU RELAY IS... Yep it is because of everything they have given me, everything they have done for me... it is the very least I can do so no one else that they love has to go through what they did. I love you Boppa and Granny!! This is all for you... you will always be my sunshine...

It's been one HOT summer

Well, here it is July 1st... can you believe it?? Where did June go? It has been so hot here. We are trying to keep cool by being out in the shade, staying in the ACed house (which doesn't work when you have a 10 week old puppy) Jared and I took Bandit up the canyon on Saturday to play in the water... nope. He was just as happy to lay under a tree and chew a stick. We also have gone to SONIC to get us "Happy Hour" drinks and we'll get him an ice cream cone!! He loves it, and yes he is a spoiled dog. But his all time favorite treat is... He LOVES his otter pops!! He's such a good boy. He's defiantly has a fun personality!! WE LOVE YOU BANDIT!!
